เรียนรู้นอกห้องเรียนกับโครงการ “You Are My Hero”
ตอน รถไฟฟ้าพาทัวร์ (Episode: EV Tour)
“เรื่องเล่าที่ดี…สร้างจินตนาการ ประสบการณ์ที่ดี…สร้างอนาคต”
ในโลกปัจจุบัน ทุกคนสามารถเรียนรู้ได้ตลอดเวลาโดยไม่มีที่สิ้นสุด ยิ่งเรียนรู้มาก ยิ่งเป็นผลดีต่ออนาคต เพราะประสบการณ์ต่างๆ จะต่อยอดความรู้ ความคิด การตัดสินใจ รวมทั้งทักษะในการแก้ปัญหา ด้วยระดับปฐมวัยเป็นช่วงอายุที่เอื้อต่อการเรียนรู้มากที่สุด (Critical Period) โรงเรียนสาธิตมหาวิทยาลัยนเรศวร (ปฐมวัยและประถมศึกษา) จึงให้ความสนใจกับการเรียนรู้ระดับอนุบาล โดยพยายามจัดกิจกรรมที่บูรณาการการเรียนรู้ในห้องเรียนกับประสบการณ์นอกห้องเรียนให้กับนักเรียนอย่างต่อเนื่อง
ในการนี้ ทางโรงเรียนสาธิตฯ จึงได้จัดโครงการ You Are My Hero ซึ่งเปิดโอกาสให้ผู้เชี่ยวชาญที่มีความรู้และความสามารถด้านต่างๆ ได้มีส่วนร่วมในการจัดกิจกรรมนอกห้องเรียนกับนักเรียนและคุณครู โดยผู้เชี่ยวชาญนั้น จะเป็นผู้ปกครองของนักเรียนที่มีจิตอาสาเวียนมาเป็นวิทยากรในหัวข้อต่างๆ (Topics) เป็นตอนๆ (Episodes) ตลอดภาคการศึกษา เพื่อให้นักเรียนเรียนรู้ สัมผัสประสบการณ์ และได้ความรู้ที่เป็นประโยชน์สร้างสรรค์ นอกเหนือจากที่ได้รับในห้องเรียน อีกทั้งยังเป็นทั้งการสร้างความภูมิใจในตัวพ่อแม่หรือผู้ปกครอง ในมุมที่ลูกและนักเรียนคนอื่นอาจไม่เคยเห็น พร้อมทั้งเปิดโอกาสให้ผู้ใหญ่ได้สร้างแรงบันดาลใจให้แก่เด็กๆ เสมือนเป็นวีรบุรุษ (Hero) ที่มีความหมายและทรงพลังมากกว่าของเล่น หนังสือ หรือสื่อใดๆ ในโลก
เมื่อวันที่ 14 สิงหาคม 2562 ทางโรงเรียนได้เริ่มโครงการ You Are My Hero เป็นครั้งแรก คือ ตอน“รถไฟฟ้าพาทัวร์” (Episode: EV Tour) โดยมี ผศ.ดร.ดลเดช ตั้งตระกาลพงษ์ ผู้ช่วยอธิการบดีและผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านวิศวกรรม พร้อมคุณสาธิต สวนนุ่ม เจ้าหน้าที่ประจำกองอาคารสถานที่ รับหน้าที่เป็นวิทยากรสาธิตการทำงานของรถไฟฟ้าของมหาวิทยาลัย เช่น การเปลี่ยนแบตเตอรี่เพื่อเติมพลังงาน การดูแลรักษารถ การใช้พลังงานไฟฟ้าไร้มลพิษในการขับเคลื่อน ฯลฯ ซึ่งก่อนหน้านี้ นักเรียนโรงเรียนสาธิตฯ ที่เป็นบุตรหลานของบุคลากรได้มีความคุ้นเคยกับรถไฟฟ้าที่บริการรับ-ส่งหลังเลิกเรียนอยู่แล้ว แต่ยังไม่มีความรู้เชิงลึกเกี่ยวกับยานพาหนะที่ตนใช้สัญจร เช่นเดียวกับนักเรียนที่เป็นบุตรหลานของบุคคลภายนอก ทางวิทยากรจึงจัดรถไฟฟ้ารับเด็กๆ จากโรงเรียนเพื่อพาไปเยี่ยมชมสถานีรถไฟฟ้า รวมทั้งให้รู้จักการทำงานของรถฟอร์คลิฟท์ อุปกรณ์สำหรับรถไฟฟ้า เครื่องมือที่ใช้จริง ความปลอดภัย ความเสี่ยงอันตราย โดยมี Heroes คือ คุณพ่อของนักเรียนทั้ง 2 ท่าน พร้อมทีมงานสถานีรถไฟฟ้าและฝ่ายกองอาคารสถานที่ เป็นผู้สาธิตและให้ความรู้กับเด็กๆ อย่างสนุกสนานและเป็นกันเอง
จากการเรียนรู้นอกห้องเรียนในครั้งนี้ นักเรียนได้รับประสบการณ์ในการเดินทางพร้อมเพื่อนๆ ซึ่งสร้างความตื่นเต้นให้เด็กๆ ไม่น้อย การได้สัมผัสกับรถไฟฟ้า ได้เห็นการทำงานของคุณพ่อทั้งสอง รวมทั้งได้เรียนรู้การทำงานของผู้ใหญ่ ทำให้นักเรียนได้เห็นภาพโลกภายนอกอย่างชัดเจน มีความคิดที่จะพัฒนาศักยภาพของตนอย่างสร้างสรรค์ และมีแรงบันดาลใจที่อยากจะเติบโตเป็นผู้ใหญ่อย่างสมบูรณ์ ซึ่งครูประจำชั้นได้สังเกตเห็นพัฒนาการดังกล่าวและให้ความเห็นว่า “นักเรียนมีความสนใจและความอดทน กล้าแสดงออกเป็นอย่างมาก ไม่ร้องไห้ขอกลับห้องเลย แม้จะเจอแดดและอากาศร้อน เด็กๆ ดูสดใสและอยากจะเรียนรู้ต่อไปอีก บางคนมียกมือถามวิทยากรเกี่ยวกับรถและอุปกรณ์ โดยที่คุณครูไม่ต้องช่วยเหลือ”
การปูพื้นฐานการเรียนรู้ไม่จำเป็นต้องมาจากห้องเรียนเสมอไป การจำลองโลกแห่งความจริงมานำเสนอให้เด็กเกิดความเข้าใจจนสามารถสร้างจินตนาการตามได้ เป็นสิ่งที่สำคัญ ที่เหนือกว่านั้น คือ เด็กๆ ได้สัมผัสและเรียนรู้สิ่งต่างๆ ด้วยตนเอง (Learning by Doing) เห็นของเล่นชิ้นใหญ่ที่มีอยู่จริง และค้นพบว่าวีรบุรษ (Hero) นั้นมีอยู่ทุกที่ และพวกเขาก็สามารถเป็นวีรบุรุษได้เช่นกัน ซึ่งประสบการณ์เหล่านี้ คือ ความรู้และความเข้าใจอันลึกซึ้งที่จะติดตามพวกเขาไปตลอดชีวิต

“Good Stories Create Imagination. Good Experiences Create Future”
Nowadays, everyone can learn everything without any limitation. The more we learn, the better our future becomes because experiences will expand our knowledge, thought, decision and problem-solving skill. As early childhood is considered as the critical period of learning, Naresuan University Demonstration School (Kindergarten and Primary) has paid great attention to all kinds of learning during early childhood by continually organising inside-classroom activities integrated to outside-classroom experiences for students.
Accordingly, NUDS has created the project “You Are My Hero” that gives opportunities to experts in different fields to take part in creating outside-classroom activities with students and teachers. The experts are the students’ guardians with volunteer spirit, who take turns to give students lectures or demonstrations on several topics in various episodes throughout the academic year. The project’s aim is to allow students to study and experience new things, including acquiring other kinds of knowledge, apart from what they have got in the classroom. The other objective is to establish the students’sense of pride towards their parents or guardians from the perspective that they have never seen before. On top of that, the project’s goal is to give adults a chance to inspire children as a hero regarded more precious and powerful than other toys, books or media in the world.
On 14 August 2019, NUDS unveiled the first “You Are My Hero” project in Episode: EV Tour. The guest lecturers were Assist.Prof.Dr. Doldej Tangtrakarnpong, Assistant to NU President and an expert in engineering, together with Mr. Satit Suan-noom, an employee at Division of Building and Construction, who volunteered to demonstrate the students NU Electric Vehicle’s operations such as how to change EVs’ battery, EV maintenance, clean electric energy for EVs, etc. Previously, the students whose guardians are NU staff have already been familiar with the EV service after school. However, as other students, they have not known the transport in details. The lecturers therefore sent an EV to pick them up from the school and take them to EV Station for demonstration on forklift truck, EV equipment, necessary tools, security, safety hazards, etc. During the study tour, the two heroes who are also fathers of two students, together with NU staff from EV Station and Division of Building and Construction, provided EV knowledge to children with great fun and friendliness.
Joining this outside-classroom learning activity, the students got experiences of taking a trip with classmates, making them excited and motivated to discover things around. Seeing real EVs, realising Daddy’s works and learning adults’ jobs help the students have a true understanding of the outside world, a thought of developing their capacity and an inspiration of growing up as a whole person. Having observed their behaviours, the teacher added that “the kids show more interest, perseverance and confidence during the tour. They don’t cry to get back to the class. Even though the weather is hot, they look happy and eager to experience more. Some students raise their hand to ask the lecturers about EVs and equipment without any help from teachers at all.”
To acquire basic learning, knowledge does not need to spring out of the classroom. The simulation of the real world that gives children understanding and imagination is more important. Beyond this, children should be able to know the world through learning by doing with real and huge toys. Most of all, they will find that heroes are everywhere, and they can be one of them. Such perception is true knowledge and deep understanding that will follow them for the rest of their life.
